About Pancreatic Cancer
Signs and Symptoms
Unlike other diseases, pancreatic cancer is insidious: it is frequently diagnosed before any early symptoms occur. When symptoms do arise they may include:
· Loss of appetite
· Weight loss
· Abdominal pain
· High blood sugar levels
· Fatigue
· Nausea/vomiting.
Tumors that develop near the common bile duct may cause jaundice, which can yellow the skin and eyes. This has a silver lining: the visual symptoms of jaundice can alert doctors to the possible onset of pancreatic cancer.
