Training offers a comprehensive education program designed to equip
newly
diagnosed diabetes patients and those with uncontrolled diabetes
with the tools
to achieve and maintain good health. Recognized by the American
Diabetes Association, the staff consists of Certified Diabetes
Educators,
Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitians.

- Nutritional management of blood glucose
- Medications
- Preventing, detecting, and treating acute complications
- Monitoring blood glucose
- Preventing, detecting, and treating chronic complications
- Heart healthy eating
- Physical activity
- Goal setting and problem solving for daily living
- Psychological adjustment

On-going education is available through the monthly Diabetes Support
Group, which meets the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 p.m. A light
