Oncology Volunteers

The Oncology Volunteer Program

Both at the Center and the Oncology Unit at the Hospital, volunteers are essential in taking care of patients.

Specially trained volunteers offer care and camaraderie to patients in waiting areas, while helping patients get from one treatment area
to another, and even during treatment.

Oncology Volunteers operate our Wig Salon, where women experiencing hair loss due to cancer therapy are provided a wig free of charge. The Loving Care Gift Shop is operated by volunteers. Hats, scarves, jewelry, tapes, journals, and other items selected to help cancer patients and their families are available. Volunteers also operate the Library.

Our Ambassador Volunteers work in the front lobby and help out at the reception desk. Auxiliary volunteers also work closely with staff to help organize paperwork and special programs. Volunteers also work in the Breast Health Center.
