DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY Diagnostic radiology, or general radiology, involves imaging organs, bones, and other internal structures by means of standard x-ray photography and/or contrast studies. Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center's board-certified radiologists and accredited technologists are available 24 hours a day to provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic radiology services, quickly and safely. In addition to providing standard x-ray imaging services, the PVHMC Department of Radiology offers a complete range of contrast studies- x-ray procedures that involve the use of a contrast medium to highlight certain organs, tissues or structures, such as veins or arteries. When introduced into an organ, for example, contrast dye causes the organ or tissue to appear more clearly and in greater detail on the x-ray image. Contrast media can be injected or orally ingested, and may take several hours or even days to collect in the desired site. Contrast studies offered through our department include: Barium
