BIRTHING SERVICES At the Women’s Center at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, we understand that the birthing experience is a very personal event. So, we’ve created birthing environments that foster family understanding, involvement and togetherness. Our Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) suites offer a comfortable, homelike atmosphere where a woman can privately experience childbirth without the distraction of moving from room to room, and without the clinical atmosphere associated with traditional delivery room births. Yet, for all their home-like comfort, the LDRP suites are part of a highly advanced health care complex with complete medical facilities and fully trained professionals immediately at hand in the event of any conceivable complication. Our Women’s Center offers 60 private suites, two surgical suites for cesarean sections, and a newborn nursery for those times when special needs arise. Because family support and involvement are important in childbirth, the Women’s Center offers open visiting. This means each mom can determine her individual visiting arrangements with guidance from her healthcare team. Our lactation consultant (breastfeeding expert) is available to answer questions about breastfeeding and lend support while mothers are patients in the Women’s Center or after they have gone home with their new babies. She can be reached by calling (909) 623-MILK (623-6455). A breast pump rental program is also available. Advanced Facilities for the Expecting
