PREPARING FOR YOUR BABY

The Women's Center at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is more than a place to deliver a baby. We do everything possible to prepare mothers-to-be and their families for their special birth experience.

Family Birth Services
Family Birth Services offers an excellent variety of childbirth educational programs, community resource information, and referrals to obstetricians and pediatricians. Our expert educators provide reassurance and guidance for everyone who will touch the life of a newborn. Classes are open to all expectant families regardless of where they plan to deliver their baby and include the following selections:

• Lamaze, Teen Lamaze, and Lamaze Refresher
• Preparing for Cesarean Birth and Anesthesia
• Baby Basics
• Breastfeeding
• Infant/Child CPR
• Boot Camp for Dads

• Growing Into Grandparenting
• The NuParent Program
• Smart Sitter

Having a Healthy Baby Program
Our "Having a Healthy Baby" program (also known as Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program, or CPSP) is a special educational service offered at no cost to women with Medi-Cal benefits who are pregnant or who have recently delivered their babies. Women who take advantage of this program receive the information and education they need to make healthy choices for themselves and their babies. Our "Having a Healthy Baby" program provides the following services:

• Nutritional counseling
• Emotional support
• Childbirth classes
• Baby Care classes
• Financial guidance
• Community resource referrals
