So that all women in the Pomona/Inland Valleys and beyond have access to the most advanced mammography technology available, for the early detection of breast cancer, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) has invested more than $1.8 million in 3-D breast imaging, called tomosynthesis. 09/12/2012 Maternal Fetal Air Transport

Expectant mothers in seven California counties can now rest a little easier knowing that if they need emergency care for themselves or their pre-term baby help is on the way. Thanks to Mercy Air, helicopter services have been added to PVHMC’s long-standing ground transportation program. 06/21/2012 Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Awarded an A for Patient Safety by Hospital Safety Score

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) was recently honored with an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The Hospital Safety Score was calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections. U.S. hospitals were assigned an A, B, C, D, or F for their safety. 06/05/2012 Pomona Valley Hospital Participates in National CPR Day by Hosting Sidewalk Hands Only CPR demonstration sites

03/24/2012 March of Dimes Awards Grant to PVHMC to Improve Health of Mothers and Babies in the Region

The March of Dimes California Chapter has awarded a grant to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center to support its Continuous Glucose Monitoring Pregnancy Project that is aimed at underserved maternal and child health needs in the Pomona Valley area. This program will help diabetic pregnant women get control of their blood sugar levels. Uncontrolled blood sugar is known to coincide with birth defects, macrosomia (high birth weight) and other complications. 02/09/2012 Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is the First Community Hospital in California to perform Robotic Assisted Surgery with Fluorescence Guided Imaging

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) was the first in the area to perform robotic assisted surgeries with the da Vinci Surgical System in 2005, and now has become the first community hospital in California to provide the most state-of-the-art technology available for minimally invasive robotic assisted surgery with the installation of the da Vinci Si, 3D, HD Surgical System with Fluorescence Imaging.
