High School & College Students

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has both a Junior Volunteer Program for high school students and a College Volunteer Program for college students.  Please scroll down to find information on the College Volunteer Program.

High School Students

Your interest in the Junior Volunteer Program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is greatly appreciated. To be considered for acceptance into the program, you must be a high school student who is currently in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. Applications are only offered and accepted twice per year.
 
We have received the maximum number of Application Requests for the next Volunteer session. Check back at this page for the next application request date.  Not all submissions will be accepted and applications will not available in the Volunteer Department.

Junior Volunteers

Are you a high school student considering a future in the medical field? Do you enjoy helping others and learning new things? Pomona Valley Hospital’s Junior Volunteer Program may just be the place for you to make new friends, and make a difference.  If accepted as a Junior Volunteer, you will be assigned a 3-hour shift once per week and must commit to volunteer a minimum of 1 year.

College Students

The College Volunteer Program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is designed to provide students pursuing a medically related career in college with an opportunity to gain first hand experience in a hospital environment. Student volunteers provide needed assistance to the medical, nursing, and ancillary staff as well as to our patients and their families. The College Volunteer Program is not meant for the purpose of job/career training, nor is it meant to lead to paid employment at PVHMC.

College Students

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Students interested in a medically related career that have completed at least 1 semester of college may apply for this program.
 
APPLICATIONS:
Our college Program is currently full. We will be accepting requests for applications on July 31, 2015.  The link to request the application will be posted here at that time.  The link will not work prior to July 31st.  The link will be removed when we have reached the maxmimum number of requests that can be processed.  Not all requests will be accepted.
 
Scheduling:
If accepted as a Volunteer, you will be assigned to a four-hour shift once per week and must commit to complete a minimum of 100 hours of service.
