High School & College Students

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has both a Junior Volunteer Program for high school students and a College Volunteer Program for college students.  Please scroll down to find information on the College Volunteer Program.

High School Students

Your interest in the Junior Volunteer Program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is greatly appreciated. To be considered for acceptance into the program, you must be a high school student in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grade.  The link to request the application will be posted to this site on July 12th at 4:00 p.m. 

Junior Volunteers

Are you a high school student considering a future in the medical field? Do you enjoy helping others and learning new things? Pomona Valley Hospital’s Junior Volunteer Program may just be the place for you to make new friends, and make a difference.
 
Scheduling:  If accepted as a Junior Volunteer, you will be assigned a 3-hour shift once per week and must commit to volunteer a minimum of 1 year.

College Students

The College Volunteer Program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is designed to provide students pursuing a medically related career in college with an opportunity to gain first hand experience in a hospital environment. Student volunteers provide needed assistance to the medical, nursing, and ancillary staff as well as to our patients and their families. The College Volunteer Program is not meant for the purpose of job/career training, nor is it meant to lead to paid employment at PVHMC.

College Students

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Students interested in a medically related career that have completed at least 1 semester of college may apply for this program.

   We have received the maximum number of applications we can process at this time.  The next application period will be in July or August.  Please check back on this web site for the date that we will once again post the application link.  Thank you.

Space is limited.  The link will be removed when the maximum number of requests has been received.  Not all requests will be accommodated.
 
The link is generally posted every six to eight weeks.
 
Scheduling:
If accepted as a Volunteer, you will be assigned to a four-hour shift once per week and must commit to complete a minimum of 100 hours of service.
