CELEBRATING WITH STYLE
FASHION SHOW AND LUNCHEON

PVHMC Foundation hosted the 4th Annual “Celebrating with Style” Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, November 4th at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario.  Over 500 guests (our largest attendance to date) enjoyed a champagne reception, and a chance to win one of the 23 theme baskets that were raffled during the event.
This year’s event brought in over $34,000 in net proceeds (last year $11,700) to benefit the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center Endowment Fund.  This fund provides the vital resources needed by the Cancer Care Center to offer “no cost” wellness and education programs to cancer survivors, their families and the community.

After lunch, guests enjoyed an inspirational fashion show with clothes worn by our eleven models all treated at the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center. Fashions modeled were by SteinMart-Rancho Cucamonga, and tuxedos by Carducci Tuxedos in Pomona.

Since the event’s inception attendance has grown from 270 to more than 500!   The Foundation would like to thank all the committee members, sponsors, underwriters, and most of all the models who shared their cancer journeys with our guests – their stories were amazing and inspirational.

You won’t want to miss our next Celebrating with Style Fashion Show and Luncheon…mark your calendar for Saturday, November 3, 2007.  If you or someone you know has been treated at the Cancer Care Center and are interested in being one of our models, please contact Mary Dyer at (909) 865-9555.

Heartbeat Gala

PVHMC Foundation hosted the 11th annual Heartbeat Gala on Saturday, February 12th at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario. Over 525 guests were in attendance making this our very first SOLD OUT event. The night began with a champagne reception where guests enjoyed purchasing opportunity tickets for a theme basket raffle (55 baskets) and a small silent auction. Following dinner, we held a LIVE auction. Auctioneer, Jess Swick, did a fantastic job encouraging guests to bid on unique and priceless items, such as:

  • Mammoth weekend trip
  • One-week timeshare
  • Name a baby racehorse
  • Bronze heart sculpture
  • 10-day trip for two to China.

Following the auction, guests danced the night away to music by ACE.
The theme for this year’s event focused on the Heart of A Woman Program at PVHMC. Macy’s in Montclair kindly allowed us to display a few of their red dresses to add the final touch to our theme as red dresses are the symbol for women and heart disease. Each table was adorned with a gorgeous floral centerpiece surrounded by a small waterfall to represent tranquility.

The Foundation is pleased to announce that Heartbeat Gala 2005 raised over $110,000 (our largest to date) in net proceeds to be used for the Stead Heart Center Endowment Fund.

Celebrating with Style

On November 6th, 2004, PVHMC Foundation hosted the 2nd annual "Celebrating with Style" Fashion Show and Luncheon at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario. More than 370 guests enjoyed a champagne reception, raffle drawings for twenty-eight different theme baskets, a light lunch and fashion show. The show featured ten models (6 women and 4 men) that have been treated at The Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center. The fashions worn were by Stein Mart in Rancho Cucamonga, and Carducci's Tuxedo in Claremont.

The Foundation is pleased to announce that net proceeds in excess of $6,000 were raised for the Cancer Center Endowment fund. This fund provides financial support to the many educational, nutritional, psycho-social and group support programs offered to anyone in the community at no cost. The Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended, those who sponsored the event with donations, and especially the models that graciously shared their journeys with other survivors' and offered each of them inspiration and courage to live each day to the fullest.

Next year's event will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Ontario. We hope to see you there
