Children's Outpatient Services

CHILDREN’S OUTPATIENT CENTER

As part of our complete range of pediatric services, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s Children’s Outpatient Center offers specialty clinics, in a warm and friendly setting, for infants and children who require further care or treatment after hospitalization.

Pulmonary Clinic:
The Children’s Outpatient Center features a pulmonary clinic, headed by a pediatric pulmonologist affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Consultation, evaluation, and treatment for various pulmonary disorders are available here. Some conditions we provide treatment for
are:

              • Broncho-puilmonary dysplasia
              • Asthma
              • Reactive airway disease
              • Cystic fibrosis
              • Complex respiratory failure

Developmental High-Risk Clinic:
Although most infants who graduate from a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit grow and develop normally, some are at risk. Early intervention may help these infants reach their full potential. Our High Risk Infant
Program(HRIP) provides services for children up to three years of age as well as information and support to their families.

Headed by a pediatric physician specialist called a neonatologist, the HRIP clinic team includes specially trained pediatric nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians, and medical social workers.

Infant development is assessed in these areas:

Growth progress (muscle tone, reflexes, height and weight) Adaptive skills (playing with objects) Personal and social skills (smiling, eye contact, talking) Motor skills (sitting, walking, use of hands) Vision and hearing
