PEDIATRIC UNIT
Our pediatric unit at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical center offers a caring environment that encourages the participation of parents in the health care of their children. We host a special pre-admitting program in which the child and family are introduced to their own case manager, who coordinates care throughout their stay. Medical social workers and discharge planners are available to address any concerns, should they arise. They will also help coordinate post-hospital care; provide community care referrals and emotional support for the family. At PVHMC, pediatricians (specially trained physicians) and nurses who specialize in the care of children, use the most advanced technology available to ensure calm, healing environment. To help ease children’s fears of treatment and technologically advanced machines, a colorful jungle theme has been incorporated into the unit. Hand painted by a PVHMC Pediatric nurse, it is very welcoming to our small patients. To help add a measure of comfort, sleep chairs are in each room allow parents to be with their child for overnight stays. The pediatric unit provides diagnostic and treatment services for a variety of medical conditions, including:
A unit inclusive pediatric day surgery area is also available for youngsters in need of surgical treatment.
