Transport Services

WOMEN'S TRANSPORT SERVICES

Women and children at other medical facilities are routinely transferred to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) to receive the most advanced maternal, pediatric and neonatal medical care available in the Pomona Valley. In response, PVHMC has developed specialized services for transporting critically ill patients quickly and safely.

Our emergency transport services are available 24-hours-a-day to transport high-risk pregnant women and critically ill newborns and children. Transport teams - including physician specialists, registered nurses and respiratory therapists - are trained to quickly assess and stabilize the patient's condition for transport, and our specially designed and equipped vehicles ensure that patients receive the best care possible.

Maternal Transport Services
PVHMC's Maternal Transport Unit provides medical care for pregnant patients en route to the hospital. Our transport team is specially trained to care for the full range of maternal medical emergencies, including:

  • Bleeding after 20 weeks
  • Hypertensive disorders
  • Premature dilation or rupture of membranes
  • Pre-term labor
  • Multiple gestation (twins, etc.)
  • Diabetes
