REGION’S FIRST TO UTILIZE REVOLUTIONARY 64-SLICE CT

On May 14, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center became the first hospital in the region to utilize the most clinically advanced 64-slice CT imaging system. It gives Hospital physicians an innovative new tool for obtaining the information they need to more quickly and precisely diagnose patients with chest pain and life- threatening illnesses, including heart disease, stroke and trauma.

HEART ATTACK VICTIMS ROUTED TO DESIGNATED HOSPITALS

Los Angeles County ambulances are now instructed to take patients, within a 30-minute radius, who are experiencing a ST-Elevated Myocardial Infarction to
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and its Stead Heart and Vascular Center. As a result of this designation, paramedics in the field now work directly with hospital
emergency physicians, cardiologists and clinicians to diagnose patients.
