Follow-Up Program

An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

Our Vascular Follow-Up Program focuses on providing strategically timed, scientifically based follow-up testing on eligible patients evaluated in our Vascular Lab.  Follow-up studies allow the Primary Physician to monitor any potential acceleration of vascular disease that may benefit from possible intervention, medication or therapy.Patients eligible for the Follow-Up program are those presenting with moderate to severe findings in the categories listed below:

  • Arterial:   Upper or lower extremities
  • Venous:    Upper or lower extremities (DVT that is partial, complete or sub-acute)
  • Carotid:     A 50% to 69% or greater stenosis unilaterally or bilaterally
  • Aortic:       Findings that are greater than 3cm in diameter

For confirmation purposes, our findings are compared with other corroborative procedures such as MRA or CTA, where applicable.Any patient found with moderate to severe findings as indicated above is automatically entered into our Follow-Up Program database and within 6 months is notified to work with their Primary Physician in obtaining a referral for a follow-up study.  Our Follow-Up Program is designed as a collaborative effort between the patient, his/her Primary Physician and our Vascular Lab in the delivery of the best patient care possible.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
