POMONA VALLEY HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION RAISES FUNDS AND CARDIOVASCULAR
HEALTH AWARENESS AT ELEVENTH ANNUAL
‘POWER OF RED’ EVENT
Event Funds Will Directly Support the Stead Heart and Vascular Center’s
Stead Heart for Women Program
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) Foundation recently held
its eleventh annual Power of Red event, which raised funds to support
the Stead Heart and Vascular Center’s Stead Heart for Women Program.
More than 100 guests gathered wearing red to enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres,
wine and dinner at this year’s “Wear it! Feel it! Live it!”
themed event. They participated in a featured “paint night”
activity, guided by Raquel Danieri from Purple Easel. Guests also learned
about the benefits of art as a therapeutic tool for stress relief and
its positive impact on cardiovascular health. Artwork created by children
in Pomona Unified School District illustrating the theme “Heart
Health: What’s in Your Lunchbox” was also on display and will
be displayed year-round throughout PVHMC.
The PVHMC Foundation hosts the Power of Red event annually in support of
the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, which
is part of an ongoing effort to educate the public about heart disease
in women and to advocate for preventative services. All proceeds from
the event benefit PVHMC’s Stead Heart for Women, a program that
offers information on risk factors, lifestyle modification, diet and exercise,
as well as individual support to women in the community.
