Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Raises More Than $65,000
At 24th Annual Heartbeat Gala
Event Had Guests Rocking to the Beat While Raising Funds to Support the
Stead Heart and Vascular Center Endowment Fund
POMONA, Calif., March 13, 2018 — More than 500 guests joined Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC)
Foundation for the 24th annual Heartbeat Gala at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario on March 3 and
raised more than $65,000 to support the Hospital’s Stead Heart and
Vascular Center. The annual event has raised over $2.4 million to support
the nationally recognized center of excellence.
The evening kicked off with a champagne reception and silent auction before
dinner. La Verne Mayor Don Kendrick chaired the event and local Pomona
band THE ANSWER provided musical entertainment for the evening.
“The support we receive from Heartbeat Gala allows us to continually
evolve and expand our services,” said Richard E. Yochum, FACHE,
president/CEO. “This event helps to ensure that we have state-of-the-art
technology so our patients have the highest quality heart and vascular
care close to home. I am extremely proud of all our Associates who provide
the expert level of care that saves lives every day.”
For more than 30 years, PVHMC’s Stead Heart and Vascular Center has
offered one of the most complete lines of cardiovascular and stroke services
in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. PVHMC’s heart and vascular
center has been recognized by the Joint Commission with the Gold Seal
of Approval™ as a Primary Stroke Center and Healthgrades recently
recognized the Hospital as the top 10 percent in the nation for Cardiac
Surgery with a five-star recognition for Carotid Surgery and Coronary
Bypass surgery.
Just recently, the Hospital also earned Chest Pain Center Certification
from the American College of Cardiology for its expertise in evaluating,
diagnosing and treating patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
In addition, the American Heart and the American Stroke Association recognized
PVHMC with highest honors for treating stroke and heart failure.
