Bonding With Breastfeeding

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!

Breastfeeding your baby can be a rewarding experience. Studies show that breastfeeding has significant nurturing and nutritional benefits for your baby. In addition, breastfeeding provides health benefits that are extremely beneficial to your baby’s growth and development.

Nursing your baby is a learned skill for both mother and infant requiring time and patience. While many women are able to successfully breastfeed soon after delivery, some women need assistance to breastfeed their baby.

Pomona Hospital Medical Center has lactation support services to help a new mother with skills to help her to breastfeed successfully.

Lactation Consultant

Our Lactation Consultant (breastfeeding expert) is available Monday-Saturday to answer questions about breastfeeding. A Lactation Consultant will visit your postpartum room during your stay to assist with breastfeeding and lend support in your effort.

We recommend that you attend our Breastfeeding Class during the 7th month of your pregnancy.
