Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Awards Cherie L. Rudoll Nursing Scholarship to 25 Hospital Nursing Students

Each year, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) awards the Cherie L. Rudoll Nursing Scholarship to Associates and Volunteers who are pursuing a nursing degree. This year, the Rudoll family joined PVHMC to present a record 25 $2,000 scholarships to Associates currently enrolled in nursing school at the hospital’s special Nurses Week Event on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

The Cherie L. Rudoll Nursing Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by the PVHMC Foundation and the family of Cherie Rudoll, RN, former Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services at PVHMC, who passed away from cancer in early 2007. The scholarship fund honors her as a visionary leader and passionate nurse and continues her vision to develop and support the nurses of tomorrow.

Cherie was committed to the development of the field of nursing, specifically, to the continuous growth of PVHMC’s nurses. She was dedicated to providing excellence and patient-centered care for the hospital’s patients.

The 25 awardees are currently enrolled in nursing school while maintaining their current position at the hospital. As applicants, they were required to submit an application of “Why I Want to Pursue a Career in Nursing.” The scholarships were awarded to the following PVHMC Associates:
