As part of the Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Subaru and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) donated gifts and delivered messages of hope to cancer patients at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s (PVHMC) Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center for the second year in a row.
On June 26, Subaru Puente Hills staff brightened the days of many PVHMC cancer patients and their families. Together they delivered dozens of “messages of hope,” 80 plush blankets, 10 patient care kits containing pencils, a water bottle, coloring books, stress balls and socks.
The “messages of hope” were handwritten by customers who visited the Puente Hills Subaru showroom during the year to show support to patients who are battling cancer.
“We express our gratitude to Subaru and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for honoring each of the patients who came to our Cancer Care Center on June 26th,” said Leigh Cornell, FACHE, Vice President of Administration at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. “Whether they were here for diagnosis, treatment or a follow-up appointment, they feel your care through these gifts, and it gives them a needed boost of support and joy.”
Since 2016, LLS has partnered with Subaru and its retailers as part of the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative, which aims to provide warmth, love and support to patients facing cancer. Over the past 10 years, they have proudly supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients across the country.
