Pharmacy Residency Program
Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s Pharmacy Residency Program
is committed to developing confident, competent and compassionate pharmacists with strong clinical and communication skills to care for
our patients and educate future generations of healthcare professionals.
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists
responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range
of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate
year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Our goals for our residents are excellence in clinical practice and teaching,
readiness for additional post-graduate training and eligibility for board
certification. At our institution, residents will gain a wealth of hands
on experience in acute care pharmacy practice ranging from emergency medicine
and intensive care to various inpatient clinical specialties. In addition,
our program is affiliated with the Keck Graduate Institute School of Pharmacy,
Chapman University School of Pharmacy, and Western University of Health
Sciences’ College of Pharmacy, providing residents with a plethora
of educational resources as well as valuable teaching experiences.
To attain these goals for our residents, we believe in a diversity of practice,
research and teaching experiences working alongside experienced pharmacists,
physicians and other healthcare professionals.
