Our Security Department is proud to announce its first official year participating in the Pink Patch Project (PPP)! The PPP is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. The goals of the PPP are to:
- Raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment
- Raise funds for cancer research, treatment and education through the sale of commemorative pink patches and other items that the Pomona Police Department will have available
As part of this project, a unique inaugural 2018 PVHMC pink patch will be available for purchase and all proceeds will be presented to our Breast Cancer Fund through the Foundation. The City of Pomona Police Department also participates in this project and will be out in the city raising funds that will also go to our Foundation's Breast Cancer Fund!
October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” so if you would like to purchase your own PVHMC pink patch or other items from the Police Department and support our Breast Cancer Fund, the merchandise will be available beginning September 26, 2018 for $10 each, at the following locations:
- PVHMC Tender Touch Gift Shop, located in the Main Lobby
- The Robert & Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center – Contact Officer Mike Gatto between 9 am and 5 pm
- Security Department, located in the parking structure off of Orange Grove Avenue (please call 909-865-9749 to ensure staff is present)
The Pomona Police Department will also be on-site on two days to promote and sell merchandise, and to take photos of YOU with their 'pinked-out' motorcycle!
- September 26, 2018:10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at The Robert & Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center
- October 1, 2018: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in our Cafeteria (please enter through the Main Lobby)
Thank you in advance for supporting this great cause and raising awareness for breast cancer!
