White Coats for Black Lives

A Special Message from Ray Inge, Vice President of Human Resources

“’White Coats for Black Lives’ was started in 2014 by a medical student-run organization whose mission is to safeguard the lives and well-being of patients through the elimination of racism and to dismantle racism in medicine and promote the health, well-being, and self-determination of people of color.

Today, our Associates and Physicians came together to take eight minutes and forty-six seconds to remember George Floyd and others who have lost their lives to injustice or faced racial discrimination.

Our country and the world have been rocked by the tragic death of George Floyd, which has highlighted the longstanding prevalence of racial inequality in our country.

We recognize that this is a very emotional issue.

While some of you may have experienced racial inequality and discrimination throughout your lifetime, others are just beginning to truly understand the enormous depth of it – and many are committing to change and share their voice in this national conversation.

Please keep in mind that we all are coming from different places and life experiences in this journey, but today we respectfully join together in our commitment against racial inequality and injustice.

Please never forget that at PVHMC…

We are committed to providing equitable care for anyone who comes through our doors.

We celebrate the ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity of our community.

We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer and we have a long history of employing individuals with diverse backgrounds.

We are committed to promoting equality and access to healthcare because we recognize the health disparities in communities of color.

AND we will never tolerate racism, inequality, nor injustice at PVHMC.
