Your Breast Health Matters: Don’t Delay Your Mammogram because of COVID-19

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, we've seen a 44.6% increase in cancelled or postponed screening mammogram appointments. That's more than 2,500 women who missed their annual mammogram. Many postponements were caused by temporary closures of medical offices due to COVID-19, but we want you to know that we are open and committed to providing a safe environment for you to get your mammogram.

Importance of Annual Screening Mammograms

Breast Cancer is the second most common cancer among women and has the second highest incidence of death, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In women who are over 40 or at a high risk of developing breast cancer, annual screening mammograms are essential to early detection and diagnosis, which can lead to more treatment options and successful health outcomes.

Our Breast Health Center and Breast Imaging Centers Are Safe

Don't let fear of COVID-19 prevent you from getting your mammogram. Your health and safety are always our top priority.

We are adhering to all guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and California Department of Public Health for infection prevention. We are committed to universal precautions to protect both our patients, as well as our Associates and Physicians, such as masking for all, observance of hand hygiene and social distancing measures and enhanced infection prevention and disinfection standards.

We're also proud to offer our patients the SmartCurve™ breast stabilization system at all of our breast imaging centers. This state-of-the-art system provides a more comfortable mammogram while maintaining clinical accuracy and at the same time it lessens pain and anxiety associated with mammograms.
