Geriatrics

Geriatrics TRAC

While it may seem daunting, Geriatrics is a very fun field of medicine. Our required curriculum for all residents includes 1 month of focused review of medical conditions in older adults, as well as longitudinal exposure to older patients in multiple settings including the hospital, clinic, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, home, and hospice throughout the 2nd and 3rd years of residency. We learn through reviewing articles, didactic sessions on common geriatric conditions and syndromes, and evaluation of patients.

The Geriatrics TRAC is an opportunity for those residents considering a geriatrics fellowship, inpatient or SNF or any other work involving caring for the elderly, and/or those with a strong interest in having a more focused and involved geriatric training experience.
