When to Seek Emergency Care Old

Urgent or Emergency – We Stand Ready to Deliver Safe, High-Quality Care

When an unexpected injury or illness strikes, knowing where to go for care may not always be clear.

Especially now, in this time of COVID-19, we understand that it is important to choose a healthcare facility that you trust to protect you and your family from the virus. But don’t let fear of COVID-19 stop you from getting the care that you need.

In recent months, we’ve seen a sharp decline in the number of patients seeking urgent and emergency care. We’re also seeing an increased severity in illnesses and conditions from people who have delayed their care, especially for serious health issues such as heart attack and stroke.

We want to assure you that our Emergency Department and Urgent Care locations are safe. We’re taking extra precautions to protect your health and safety, such as enhanced disinfection processes, screenings at all entrances, proper use of personal protective equipment, rigorous hand hygiene protocols and abidance by masking and social distancing guidelines.

So, should you go to the Emergency Department or Urgent Care?

If your injury or illness is life-threatening, always call 9-1-1.

If your injury or illness is not life-threatening, we’ve created a guide to help you determine where you should go for care :

Emergency Department

If you need emergency medical care, our Emergency Department is open 24/7 and offers both adult and pediatric emergent care. Upon arrival, a nurse will perform a COVID-19 screening and take your temperature. Once inside, the first person you’ll see is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, who will evaluate your condition for expedited treatment.

Urgent Care & Telemedicine

Our Pomona Valley Health Center Urgent Care clinics are open Monday – Friday, from 8 am – 8 pm, and weekends and most holidays from 9am – 5 pm.

New telemedicine services now allow you to see an Urgent Care provider from the comfort, convenience and safety of your own home – all you need is a computer, laptop or smart device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Call our Urgent Care centers to see if you qualify for a telemedicine visit:
