Better Emergency Care is Best for Everyone

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center's (PVHMC) newly expanded Emergency Department (ED) is now the largest in the region and offers an even higher level of care.

We've grown from 49 to 72 beds and provide advanced, life-saving capabilities for the best in emergency treatment, patient privacy and reduced wait times. We're also a Regional Paramedic Base Station, a Disaster Resource Center, a designated STEMI (heart) Receiving Center for Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties, a Primary Stroke Receiving Center, and the community's only Emergency Department approved for pediatric care. So when emergencies strike, it's good to know that help of the highest caliber is always close to home.

Each of our 22 new private rooms feature comfortable visitor chairs, as well as smart glass privacy doors, top-of-the-line bedside monitoring technology, call systems that let our patients speak directly to nursing staff, dialysis compatibility and much more. These features are aimed at reducing infections, improving patient-to-nurse communications and creating an environment conducive to healing.

This expansion is part of PVHMC's first phase of becoming a designated Level II Trauma Center in 2017.
