Our Emergency Department, designated as Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) by Los Angeles County, is open 24/7 to ensure you always have access to advanced emergency pediatric care, close to home.
This means that we meet specific standards established for the care of children ages 14 years and under, including having rooms and equipment specially designed for pediatric patients. All of our staff are trained to meet the needs of children of all ages and we have dedicated emergency department physicians and nurses who are trained and nationally certified in both emergency pediatric medicine and advanced life support.
Children are not small adults. They have a different spectrum of disease and their smaller bodies require specialized medical procedures and equipment that take in to account their size and stage of development.
Pediatric advocates feel that children in need of medical care do better when taken care of by physicians and nurses who are trained to attend to both a child's physical and emotional needs.
