Occupational therapy (OT) assists patients of all ages to safely and effectively perform activities of daily living. The goals are a full and rapid recovery by providing the knowledge and tools to aid in the management of injury, illness or disability involving the upper extremity.

Using various therapeutic techniques and procedures, occupational therapists evaluate and develop treatment plans with a focus on controlling pain, reducing swelling and abnormal sensitivity, as well as restoring strength, motion and dexterity. In addition, occupational therapy frequently provides needed bracing, splinting and adaptive equipment to assist in recovery.

Our talented PVHMC occupational therapists treat a wide range of diagnoses through several specialized OT programs, including:

  • Hand and Wrist Rehabilitation
  • Low Vision Therapy
  • Pediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Stroke Rehabilitation

We offer adult and pediatric in-clinic and virtual Telehealth appointments. Adult outpatient occupational therapy is provided at PVHMC in the Rehabilitation Services department and the PVHC La Verne clinic. Pediatric outpatient OT is offered at our Milestones Centers for Child Development located in Chino Hills and Claremont. In addition to outpatient services, our Occupational Therapists also treat children and adults on the inpatient floors of PVHMC.
