Pharmacy Residency Program

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s Pharmacy Residency Program is committed to developing confident, competent and compassionate pharmacists with strong clinical and communication skills to care for our patients and educate future generations of healthcare professionals.

PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Our goals for our residents are excellence in clinical practice and teaching, readiness for additional post-graduate training and eligibility for board certification. At our institution, residents will gain a wealth of hands-on experience in acute care pharmacy practice ranging from emergency medicine and intensive care to various inpatient clinical specialties. In addition, the program is affiliated with Keck Graduate Institute School of Pharmacy,Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Pharmacy, California Northstate University College of Pharmacy, West Coast University School of Pharmacy, and Marshall B. Ketchum University College of Pharmacy providing the residents with a plethora of educational resources as well as valuable teaching experiences.

To attain these goals for our residents, we believe in a diversity of practice, research and teaching experiences working alongside experienced pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
